Algerian Qatari Steel announced that, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation with various national and international institutions, it hosted a delegation from the National Climate Change Agency. The visit was organized within the framework of preparations for the Fourth National Communication and the Second Transparency Report, conducted in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), along with the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
During the visit, the delegation toured AQS’s production units, where company managers provided technical explanations on industrial processes, emission sources, and environmental monitoring and control systems. The delegation also reviewed the latest equipment and technologies for emission reduction, including innovative solutions for industrial water treatment and energy efficiency improvements.
Experts from the National Climate Change Agency gave a presentation on the preparation of the Fourth National Communication and the Second Transparency Report. The presentation covered the national greenhouse gas inventory, recent data, and the measurement and monitoring methods applied. The delegation also examined emission trends across various industrial sectors, while AQS managers highlighted the company’s efforts to improve environmental performance and develop emission reduction initiatives.
Algerian Qatari Steel emphasized its continued contribution to establishing an accurate greenhouse gas inventory for the iron and steel sector. The company also underlined the value of the visit in promoting environmental transparency and knowledge sharing, reiterating its commitment to work with partners to support the Sustainable Development Goals.
