Algerian Qatari Steel (AQS), one of Algeria's leading steel producers, exported a total of 700 thousand tons of iron and steel products to 36 countries in 2024, generating more than 360 million dollars in revenue. This success of the company is considered as an important step towards Algeria's goal of increasing non-hydrocarbon exports.
AQS Deputy General Manager Sofiane Chaib Setti said that compliance with international quality standards and strong production capacity make the company competitive in European, American and Asian markets. With this achievement, AQS won the “Best Algerian Exporter in Africa” award in 2024.
In 2024, the company produced over 2 million tons, 34% of which was dedicated to exports. Planning to continue growing in the coming years, AQS aims to increase its production capacity and increase its export volume to 2.7 million tons by 2028.
