Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann invited Aichi Steel’s senior management to the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit, which will take place on 13–15 March 2026 in Mohali, stating that the state aims to strengthen investment ties with Japanese companies.
According to an official announcement from Chandigarh, Aichi Steel and Vardhman Special Steels signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during Mann’s 10-day visit to Japan and South Korea.
Mann described the agreement as a significant development for the state and emphasized that Aichi Steel — known as Toyota’s steel arm — will provide strong momentum to Punjab’s industrial growth. It was noted that Aichi Steel already holds a 24.9 percent stake in Vardhman and plays a strategic role in the region’s industrial ecosystem.
Aichi Steel will begin feasibility studies for the planned investment of 500 crore rupees in Punjab, and the state government will fully support the process.
Mann stated that they expect strong participation from Japanese investors at the 2026 summit, adding that the event will create new partnership opportunities. The Chief Minister continues his engagements in Japan and South Korea as part of outreach efforts ahead of the summit.
