In the report, the company shared practical examples and data regarding its practices aimed at reducing carbon emissions in steel production, as well as its concrete achievements in the field of sustainability.
According to the company’s statement, while total emissions were reduced by 6.7% in 2024, emission intensity per ton fell to 0.52 tCO₂. AFV Beltrame Group also renewed its ISO 14064‑1 certification. The company’s climate targets were verified by GSCC. Accordingly, emission intensity is targeted to fall to 0.46 tCO₂/ton by 2030 and to 0.12 tCO₂/ton by 2050.
The report also highlighted the use of renewable energy within the energy transition framework, stating that approximately 180 GWh of hydropower was used in 2024. It was noted that solar energy investments will accelerate in 2025 and that new photovoltaic plants are planned to be commissioned. The company is also involved in various EU projects, particularly the CROSSCUT project, which aims to replace coal with secondary carbon carriers. In addition, biomethane agreements and efforts related to the district heating network in the Vicenza region are ongoing.
AFV Beltrame Group announced that its steel produced using electric arc furnace (EAF) technology contains over 95% recycled content. To support construction projects in Europe, EPD and FDES environmental declarations are provided for the products, while eco‑balance calculations are also offered in accordance with Switzerland’s KBOB standard.
The company continued to increase sales of its carbon‑neutral certified steel product, Chalibria. With the transition to the ISO 14068‑1 standard, the product’s share within the group’s sales reached approximately 11%, representing an 18% increase compared to 2024.
The report also included evaluations regarding regulations such as CSRD/ESRS, CPR/ESPR and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
