Eskinazi: “We must take measures to increase production”

Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters' Associations, emphasized that the increase in exchange rates lagged far behind the inflation figures as a result of the Medium Term Stability Program implemented by Türkiye to reduce high inflation to single digits, and stated that the capital of exporters melted, the automotive sector dominated the increase in exports in Türkiye in general, and that the high share of imports lies under the increase in exports in the automotive sector.

Emphasizing that the Turkish economy grew by 2% in the first quarter of 2025, Eskinazi stated, "When we examine the growth figures, we see that exports, industry and agriculture sectors did not contribute, on the contrary, they remained in the minus. Employment figures give bad signals. As the capital of exporters has melted, the recent decisions of the CBRT have made it difficult for us to access credit. Value-added exports based on employment are being blocked. Measures taken to reduce inflation are preparing the end of the country's industry and exports. The current level of inflation figures reveals that we have not achieved success in the fight against inflation. We have to take measures to increase production."
