Acciaierie d'Italia's Taranto plant to be decarbonised with EU funding

Acciaierie d'Italia's Taranto facility, which is one of the facilities with the greatest impact on climate change in Europe, will work towards decarbonization with a part of the 1 billion euro fund that Italy will receive from the European Commission.

Part of this fund, which will be given to Italy by the European Commission within the scope of the Just Transition Fund, will be used for the transition to the green sector in the Taranto facility of Acciaierie d'Italia, which is known to have financial problems. At the same time, 4,300 employees will be transferred to green workspaces related to clean energy and circular economy.
