While the Italian steelmaker Acciaierie d'Italia plans to produce 4 million tons of crude steel in 2023, it set its target to produce 5 million tons of crude steel in 2024.
The steelmaker, which has previously rebuilt blast furnace No. 4 and blast furnace No. 2 in normal condition, aims to begin the rebuilding of blast furnace No. 5 in 2023, which has been idle for a long time. Acciaierie d'Italia also aims to increase production at its re-rolling plant in Genoa, while continuing its plans to convert the hot treatment area in Taranto into electric arc furnaces.
