13% increase in steel consumption rates in the last 11 months in Iran

Iranian Steel Producers Association announced the consumption rates of semi-finished products and finished products on the basis of the ton, which increased or decreased.

13% increase in steel consumption rates in the last 11 months in Iran

According to the data analysis results of the Iranian Steel Producers Association, the consumption of semi-finished and finished products increased by 13% and 15%, respectively, in 11 months compared to the previous year.

Iran announced that the consumption of billet and slab, which are semi-finished products, reached 21,740,000 thousand tons.

The distribution of the increase rates according to the products is explained as follows;

  • Billet consumption increased by 14%, reaching 12,800,000 tons.
  • Slab achieved a consumption rate of 11%, reaching 9,660,000 tons.
  • Sponge iron consumption increased by 6% to 28,116,000 tons.
  • Consumption of flat steel products reached 8,356,000 tons. It was seen that hot rolled sheet reached 8,018,000 tons with an increase of 10%, cold rolled sheet reached 2,402,000 tons with a decrease of 7% and coated sheet reached 1,440,000 tons with an increase of 37%.
  • Profile consumption increased by 7% and reached 1,850,000 tons.
  • The consumption rates of angle iron, UPE, and other long steel products increased by 9%.
  • Construction iron consumption, on the other hand, increased by 21% to 7,616,000 tons.
