According to statistics, global crude steel production in January 2023 amounted to 145.3 million tons, down by 3.3% from the previous year.
Asia's crude steel production decreased by 0.2% YoY to 107.5 million tonnes, China's production increased by 2.3% YoY to 79.5 million tonnes, and the crude steel production of 27 EU countries decreased by 15.2% YoY to 10.3 million tonnes.
Crude steel production in Africa down by about 5% YoY to 1.2 million tons, while production in the Middle East increased by 19.7% YoY to 3.8 million tons.
North American crude steel production decreased by 5.6% YoY to 9.1 million tonnes, while South American production decreased by 0.6% YoY to 3.6 million tonnes.
