According to data compiled by SteelRadar from Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (German Steel Federation), Germany's crude steel production increased by 15% y/y to 3.217 million tons in October 2024. In the January-October period, production increased by 5% y/y to 31.581 million tons.
Germany increased its BOF steel production by 13.1% to 2.270 million tons in October. In the January-October period, BOF production increased by 2.6% to 22.229 million tons. EAF production, on the other hand, increased by 18.6% to 947 thousand tons in October and increased by 11.1% to 9.325 million tons in the first 10 months of the year.
Pig iron production also increased by 9% to 2.030 million tons in October. In the January-October period, production increased by 2.3% to 19.973 million tons.
Production of hot rolled steel products also increased by 7.1% to 2.770 million tons in October. In the ten months period of the year, hot rolled steel production increased by 3.6% to 27.021 million tons.
