Galva Hub Metal Coating is preparing to commission the UAE’s largest hot-dip galvanizing kettle at its facility located in Metal Park within Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). According to a statement released by the company, commissioning activities are expected to continue throughout August, with production scheduled to begin in September.
The galvanizing facility is planned to have the capacity to process up to 150,000 tons of steel per year.
16.2-meter kettle designed for large steel structures
More than 6,000 square meters of space has been allocated for galvanizing operations at the facility. The kettle is planned to be approximately 16.2 meters long, 2.7 meters wide and 3 meters deep. Thanks to its double-dip capability, the kettle will enable the galvanizing of structures up to 5.5 meters in size. This is expected to reduce the need for large steel structures to be divided into smaller sections for galvanizing or sent to facilities outside Abu Dhabi.
Will become part of the metal manufacturing ecosystem in Metal Park
The Galva Hub facility will operate in Metal Park, which focuses on metal manufacturing, processing, logistics and support services within KEZAD.
Spanning approximately 450,000 square meters, Metal Park brings together manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and business services. The facility has access to Khalifa Port and Etihad Rail connections, as well as road networks linking Abu Dhabi to other emirates and Gulf countries.
Metal Park CEO Vahid Fouladkar stated that the facility will enable the local galvanizing of large steel structures, reducing transportation and handling requirements for manufacturers operating in the region.
Galva Hub CEO Shadi Nemeh said that the facility combines the company’s more than 20 years of galvanizing experience with a large kettle that enables larger and more complex steel structures to be processed with fewer dipping operations.
