This week, production cuts in China, iron ore supply negotiations, company investments and trade policies were prominent in the Far East steel market. Despite lower production in China, weak demand continued to put pressure on prices. Across the region, capacity investments in India and Japan, profitability expectations in South Korea and protectionist trade policies in Southeast Asia also attracted attention.
