Ezz steel’s record-breaking crude steel production in 2023

In the latest Worldsteel report , Ezz Steel emerged as a formidable force in the steel industry, securing the top position among Arab steel producers and cementing its status as Africa's largest steel manufacturer. With a production of crude steel in 2023, the company surpassed competitors not only within the Arab region but also on a global scale.

The company produced an impressive 6.2 million tons of crude steel in 2023, outperforming competitors like Hadeed (SABIC) with 5.5 million tons and Emirates Steel with 3.2 million tons. Ezz Steel’s ranking even surpassed global giants such as Kobe Steel (Japan), Tosyali Holding (Türkiye), Salzgitter Group (Germany), CELSA Steel Group (Spain), and Liberty Group (U.K., Australia).

The company's dedication to quality is reflected in its diverse product portfolio, which includes 2.4 million tons of exported steel products in 2023. Notably, hot-rolled coils (HRC) accounted for 1.4 million tons of exports, with an additional one million tons of long products contributing to the company's international market presence.

Notably, Ezz Steel is also recognized as Africa’s largest steel producer, with a fully-integrated capacity of 7 million tons per annum. Ezz Steel's dominance extends beyond regional boundaries, as it also leads the African steel market. Surpassing competitors like ArcelorMittal South Africa, Ezz Steel's 2023 crude output of 6.2 million tons solidifies its position as the continent's premier steel producer.
