Eurozone inflation hits 13-year high in September

Inflation has tended to rise all over the world. In the euro area, annual inflation reached 3.4 percent in September, the highest level in the last 13 years.

Eurozone inflation hits 13-year high in September

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has released the September inflation data of the European Union (EU) and Eurozone. Inflation in the euro area reached the highest level measured since September 2008.

In September last year, inflation was 0.3 percent in the EU and minus 0.3 percent in the Eurozone.

Accordingly, annual inflation in the EU, which was 3.2 percent in August, rose to 3.6 percent in September.

Annual inflation in the Euro Zone, which was 3 percent in August, reached 3.4 percent in September.

In September last year, inflation was 0.3 percent in the EU and minus 0.3 percent in the Eurozone.

ENERGY PRICES AFFECTED INCREASING INFLATION

The increase in energy prices made the biggest contribution to the rise in inflation in September.

In September, inflation was measured at 6.4 percent in Lithuania and Estonia, 5.6 percent in Poland, 5.5 percent in Hungary, 5.2 percent in Romania and 4.7 percent in Latvia. The said rate was 4.1 percent in Germany, 4 percent in Spain, 3.8 percent in Belgium, 2.9 percent in Italy and 2.7 percent in France.
