European Union increased iron and steel imports from Russia

The European Union increased purchases of iron and steel from Russia by almost 40% in July compared to June - to 227 million euros.

At the same time, in the first seven months of this year, Russian exports of iron and steel amounted to 1.7 billion euros, which is 16% less than the amount for the same period last year.

The largest buyer of these metals was Italy, which increased its imports by 2.5 times over the month to 105 million euros. The second major importer was Belgium, whose purchases grew by a quarter to 43 million euros. The Czech Republic rounded out the top three, increasing its imports of iron and steel from Russia by 40% to 28 million euros.
