European steel companies prepare to file a lawsuit against Eurofer

European steel producers are preparing to file a class action lawsuit against the European Steel Association (Eurofer).

European steel companies prepare to file a lawsuit against Eurofer

According to allegations, Eurofer’s lobbying activities with the European Commission have put many companies in the sector in a difficult situation, and the companies have decided to take action to compensate for the damage they have suffered.

According to information received by SteelRadar, companies operating in different segments of the industry, especially steel service centers, distributors and end users, claim that Eurofer's attempts to restrict imports and exports have disrupted market balances. As a result, some steel companies in Europe are reportedly facing closure, while others are shifting their investments abroad.

The European steel sector is reportedly struggling with economic and political uncertainties, and the decisions made by Eurofer are said to be worsening the situation. It is noted that the decisions made within the scope of green steel policies are increasing costs and placing an additional burden on producers.

Industry sources emphasize that the lawsuit against Eurofer could be an important turning point in the European steel market and would be a major step in protecting the rights of steel producers.
