EU launches anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese steelmakers

EU officials announced that they will launch an anti-subsidy investigation against Chinese steelmakers. In addition, this investigation is considered a part of the agreement with the USA, which aims to end the customs duties imposed during the Trump administration.

This investigation, which will be carried out by the EU against Chinese steelmakers, will be announced at the meeting of US President Joe Biden, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel on October 20. In addition, it was also reported that the statement to be announced after the meeting will not be limited only to China.

EU officials have stated that the European Commission will conduct investigations that do not assume the existence of subsidies and the need for additional duties to prevent them.
