The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has issued a “Positive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)” decision for the Filter Press Unit and Dry Waste Storage Facility project planned by Erdemir Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in Demirdağ neighborhood, Divriği district of Sivas.
In the announcement published on the Ministry’s Directorate General of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Inspection website, it was stated that the project will be carried out in a licensed operation area of 4,965 hectares. The EIA Report was reviewed by the Commission, and a positive decision was reached after also taking into account the opinions of the public.
Following the decision, the Sivas Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change will be responsible for informing the public about the project. In addition, during the implementation of the project, compliance with the provisions set out in the Final EIA Report and its annexes, as well as with the Environmental Law No. 2872 and the relevant regulations, will be required, along with obtaining the necessary permits from the respective institutions and organizations.
