According to a statement released on July 10, 2024 on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment Permitting and Inspection, the EIA process for the Kütahya SPP project which is planned to be built by İskenderun Demir ve Çelik has started. The official statement includes the following:
"The EIA Application File which was submitted to our Ministry regarding the ISDEMIR KÜTAHYA SPP (Installed Power: 36.011 MWm/25MWe/36.011 MWp, Area: 41.42 ha) project is planned to be constructed by İSDEMİR KÜTAHYA GES (Installed Power: 36.011 MWm/25MWe/36.011 MWp, Area: 41.42 ha) by İSKENDERUN DEMİR VE ÇELİK A.Ş. in KÜTAHYA province ÇAVDARHİSAR, district Demiroluk village (148 Plot No. 8 PARSEL AND 206 Plot No. 51 PARSEL) locality has been examined in accordance with Article 8 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation. The application has been examined in accordance with Article 8 of the Regulation on Environmental Impact Assessment and it has been concluded that the application has been prepared in accordance with the EIA General Format and the EIA Process for the project has been started. Until the Environmental Impact Assessment process is finalized, all kinds of information about the process and opinions, questions and suggestions regarding the project can be submitted to KÜTAHYA Governorship (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change) or the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. "
