UAE-based EMSTEEL Group supplied UAE-made rebar and more than 80,000 tonnes of cement to several stations as part of the Etihad Rail passenger network, one of the country’s major infrastructure projects.

According to the company’s statement, the cement supplied was used in the production of concrete for the construction of passenger stations across the Al Dhafra Region and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. EMSTEEL also supplied locally manufactured rebar for the construction of several stations as part of the project.

EMSTEEL Group CEO Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi said that the Etihad Rail project is an important example of cooperation between the UAE’s industrial sector and the country’s strategic infrastructure investments. Al Remeithi stated that the use of locally manufactured materials in the project demonstrates confidence in the UAE’s industrial capacity and its ability to meet the requirements of strategic projects in accordance with high quality standards.

Etihad Rail Chief Projects Officer Mohammed Alshehhi said that, wherever possible, the project prioritised sourcing materials from local suppliers. Alshehhi emphasised that the use of “Made in the UAE” products strengthens supply chain resilience and contributes to the development of local industrial capacity.
