Under the terms of the agreement, Maersk will invest $3 billion in Egypt's green fuel production infrastructure over the next five years. The primary goal is to transition Egypt's energy sector towards renewable and sustainable sources, reducing the country's dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to the global fight against climate change.

The partnership with Maersk is expected to further accelerate Egypt's green energy ambitions. The funds provided by Maersk will be utilized to develop cutting-edge technologies for the production of sustainable fuels, such as green hydrogen, biofuels, and synthetic fuels. These technologies will be crucial in reducing carbon emissions across various sectors, including transportation, industry, and agriculture.
