In the investigation launched upon the application of the British producer Spartan UK Ltd., it was claimed that the products in question entered the domestic market at dumped prices and damaged domestic producers.
According to the TRA's preliminary findings, imports of hot rolled steel from South Korea were around 14,000 tons in 2021, while this figure exceeded 40,000 tons last year.
If any trade measures are proposed as a result of the investigation, the TRA will conduct an Economic Interest Test to determine whether the measure is in the overall interests of the national economy.
Parties wishing to contribute to the investigation can submit comments through the TRA's public dossier.
The investigation period covers the period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, and will be conducted in line with the UK's policy of ensuring fair competition in trade.
The products fall under HS codes 7208 5120, 7208 5191, 7208 5198, 7208 5210, 7208 5291, 7208 5299, 7208 9020, 7208 9080, 7210 9030, 7225 4040 and 7225 4060.
