CStar Line’s “FRS1” shipping route launched at Jeddah Islamic Port

CStar Line’s “FRS1” shipping route launched at Jeddah Islamic Port

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the launch of the new “FRS1” shipping service operated by CStar Line at Jeddah Islamic Port. This addition will directly link Jeddah with five major ports across China, Jordan, and Egypt.

The FRS1 route includes Ningbo, Shanghai, and Nansha ports in China, Aqaba in Jordan, and Sokhna in Egypt. Container vessels with a capacity of 2,000 TEUs will operate regularly on this route, which is expected to boost regional trade and enhance transit shipping activity.

This new service aligns with Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy under Vision 2030, aiming to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub, increase export volumes, and improve its standing in international performance rankings.

Jeddah Islamic Port has an annual handling capacity of 130 million tons. With the launch of the FRS1 route, the port is expected to make more efficient use of its capacity, accelerate supply chain operations, and strengthen Red Sea shipping connectivity.
