The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released the consumer confidence index data for August. According to the data, the index, which was 83.5 in July, increased by 0.9% to 84.3 in August.
Looking at the sub-items of the index, the household’s current financial situation index increased by 2.6%, rising from 68.2 to 70. The household’s financial expectations index for the next 12 months, on the other hand, decreased by 0.9%, dropping from 84.6 to 83.8.
The general economic expectations index for the next 12 months, which was 79 last month, decreased by 0.7% to 78.4 in August. Meanwhile, the index of the intention to spend on durable goods over the next 12 months increased by 2.5%, rising from 102.3 to 104.8.
