According to the results of the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), the consumer confidence index increased in May compared to the previous month.
The consumer confidence index, which was measured at 83.9 in April, increased by 1.1% in May and reached 84.8.
Analyzing the sub-items, the index of the intention to spend on durable consumer goods in the next 12 months increased by 3.3% to 102.5, while the expectation of the financial situation of the household in the next 12 months increased by 1.2% to 85.3. The index for the financial situation of the household in the current period remained unchanged at 69.1. On the other hand, the general economic situation expectation index decreased by 0.7% to 82.2.
