Consumer confidence index in Türkiye increased by 1.4% m-o-m to 82.1 in February.

Consumer confidence index in Türkiye increased in February

Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the consumer confidence index data for February. Accordingly, the consumer confidence index, which is calculated from the results of the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with TÜİK and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, increased by 1.4% to 82.1 in February from 81 in January.

With this increase, the consumer confidence index reached its highest level since June 2023. At the time, the index was recorded as 85.1.

Consumers' assessment of their current financial situation also showed a positive change. The “financial situation of the household” index, which was 64.8 in January, increased by 1.1% to 65.6 in February.

Expectations for the financial situation of the household in the next 12 months also increased. This index increased by 3.1% from 80.5 in January to 83.1 in February.

Expectations for the general economic situation in the next 12 months showed a smaller increase. This index rose by 0.3% from 79.1 in January to 79.3 in February.

The intention to spend on durable consumer goods also strengthened. The index increased by 1% from 99.4 in January to 100.3 in February.
