Modernization process is reportedly about renewing the laminar cooling section and hot coil winder systems. In this context, Çolakoğlu Metalurji aims to expand its product portfolio with abrasion-resistant steel grades and gain a significant market share in this field.
Çolakoğlu will renew the first groups in the laminar cooling system by using SMS Group's super reinforced cooling technology. This technology reportedly provides almost three times higher water application rate, increases cooling speed and improves production processes.
The investments made within the scope of the technology partnership with SMS Group are planned to be completed and commissioned in the fall of 2026. Since SMS Group delivered a 1,850 millimeter hot strip mill (HSM) to Çolakoğlu Metalurji AŞ (Çolakoğlu) in 2010, both companies have maintained a reliable and long-term technology partnership.
