Chinese steel company CSCEC has taken on two infrastructure projects in Morocco

The first project covers the construction of steel bridges on the second section of Morocco’s highways. A total of 15,600 tons of steel will be used, with funding provided by Morocco’s National Highway Agency.

The second project involves steel structures for the 430-kilometre high-speed rail line connecting Kenitra and Marrakesh. The project will use 12,600 tons of steel. Once completed, trains are expected to reach speeds of up to 320 kilometres per hour.

CSCEC also stated that it will construct a 3,000-ton steel structure for the Hisense television plant in Egypt.

According to CHINCA, with these projects in North Africa, the company now operates in a total of 47 countries and regions. The investments in Morocco and Egypt demonstrate China’s growing involvement in the region.
