According to data released by China’s General Administration of Customs, the country’s steel exports increased by 34,000 mt in August 2026 compared with the previous month. Exports rose from 10.121 million mt in July to 10.155 million mt in August.
China’s steel exports during the January-August period decreased by %3 year on year to 75.149 million mt.
The country’s steel imports stood at 434,000 mt in August. Imports decreased by %2.4 compared with July and by %13.2 compared with the same month last year.
During the January-August period, China’s total steel imports decreased by %10.5 year on year to 3.574 million mt.
As a result, China’s net steel product exports totaled 71.575 million mt during the first eight months of the year.
