China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported a significant increase in China's coke production in the first ten months of this year, reaching 410 million tons, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period last year.
China's crude coal production also showed steady growth during this period, totaling 3.83 billion tons, up 3.1% year-on-year. Moreover, China's coal imports increased by a staggering 66.8% year-on-year to 380 million tons in January-October.
October also witnessed a significant increase in coal imports, with China importing 35.99 million tons of coal, up 23.3% compared to October 2022.
In October alone, China's coke and unprocessed coal production reached 41.54 million tons and 390 million tons, respectively, marking significant year-on-year increases of 5.8% and 3.8% in each category. These figures highlight China's growing demand for both coke and coal and demonstrate the country's continued reliance on these resources for various industries and power generation.
