China's billet imports increased by 628% in July, Oman in first place

According to data collected by SteelRadar from the International Trade Centre (ITC), China's July 2024 billet imports increased by 628.09% yoy to 144,663 tons from 19,869 tons. Compared to the previous month of June, it increased by 618.83%.

In the January-July period of 2024, total billet imports increased by 79.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, increasing from 232,657 tons to 417,595 tons.

In the January-July period, Oman was the major billet import destination of China with 264,867.2 tons, followed by Japan with 107,307.8 tons, Russia with 44,134.2 tons and South Korea with 1,286 tons.

The countries that China imported billet in the January-July period are as follows;
