Canada has launched an investigation into the termination of measures on imported rebar from three countries, including Türkiye

The Tribunal will assess whether the expiration of the decision made under the RR-2019-003 review, which concluded on October 14, 2020, would result in the resumption or continuation of subsidized imports from China and dumped imports from China, South Korea, and Türkiye, or whether such imports would cause harm to the domestic industry in Canada.

In the first phase of the review, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will announce its decision on whether dumping or subsidization practices will continue by December 24, 2025. If the CBSA issues a positive decision, the Court will complete its final assessment by June 2, 2026, and determine whether these practices are causing harm to the domestic industry.

The Court operates as an independent quasi-judicial body under the authority of the Canadian Department of Finance. It issues rulings on matters such as dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard measures, complaints related to public procurement, and customs practices.
