Indian HRC export offers to the EU are likely to stay range-bound as mills focus on the more profitable domestic market amid weak EU demand. Moreover, Chinese HRC offers to the ME may remain stable ahead of Eid, with Indian mills refraining from active offers amid competitive Chinese pricing. Overall, export activity is likely to stay subdued in the near term.

Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen Chinese HRC offers at GCC ports rise by about $10/MT, now sticking at $490-495/MT CIF. Indian mills are back in the market with offers around $525-530/MT CIF, and East Asian mills are holding steady at $505-520/MT CIF. Buyers are pushing back with counteroffers $7-10/MT lower, and the order confirmations are sluggish. This tells us that demand is still pretty weak and a strong price rebound isn’t likely right now.
