Fluctuations in the exchange rate led to an increase in the export of rebar. The import volume increased with the reduction of rebar import duties.
Brazil exported about 25,400 tons of rebar, an increase of 3% compared to the same period of 2022. 80.6% of exports were exported to other parts of Latin America.
Brazil imported 23,500 tons of rebar, increased by 168.8% y-o-y in January. Peru was the largest import supplier for Brazil with 99.3%.
