Billet prices remain stable in China

China's steel industry remains a decisive element of the global economy. Especially developments in main production centers such as Tangshan have significant effects on world steel markets.

Billet prices remain stable in China

Recently, the stable trend in steel billet prices in China and the stock strategies of facilities during the holiday period are among the issues that attract attention in the market. The stability of the billet market is considered an important indicator for the stability of the balance in the industry and the supply chain.

As of April 30, billet prices in Tangshan remained stable at 3,460 yuan (479 USD) per ton before the holiday. This price includes 13% value added tax.

In the market where the holiday atmosphere prevailed, the fact that steel plants had sufficient stocks put pressure on prices. A general decrease in prices was observed during the May 1 period. Some ordinary billet resources in Tangshan's Qian'an district fell to 3450 yuan (478 USD), down 10% compared to before the holiday.

However, during the intersection period, shipments from aftermarket billet trimming facilities were relatively weak, while purchases in the market remained limited. Prices fell slightly as the market remained stagnant and activity showed a slight and passive increase. However, towards the end of the holiday, suppliers replenished their stocks somewhat, causing speculation from time to time, and prices rose slightly.

With costs establishing a solid base, billet prices are expected to follow a strong course. However, there are still uncertainties and stock pressures in the market, which may determine how prices will develop in the coming period.

The steel billet market in China continues to be closely monitored by industry professionals, as these developments are an important indicator for the country's overall economic situation and the global steel industry.
