Baku Steel has moved all its operations to a single digital platform

Baku Steel Company (BSC) has taken a significant step in its digital transformation journey by implementing the SAP S/4HANA system across all its facilities.

Baku Steel has moved all its operations to a single digital platform

The new system integrates all of the company’s production, sales, finance, and maintenance processes, including Azerboru and AzFerAl, onto a single platform, enabling real-time management.

BSC officials noted that the system has made processes transparent and traceable, reduced human errors, and significantly increased production and logistics efficiency. The new platform also provides performance monitoring, advanced analytics, and forecasting capabilities, while laying the groundwork for future integration with artificial intelligence and other digital solutions. Since going live, the first positive results in productivity and data management have already been observed.

The project fully integrated core SAP modules, including finance, procurement and logistics, production, quality management, sales, facility maintenance planning, and document management. As a result, all operational processes of BSC group companies can now be managed through a single digital platform.

Additionally, to minimize the human factor in critical areas such as goods receipt, production, sales, and inventory counting, portable terminals, scale device connections, and SAP-integrated interactive labeling systems were implemented. These solutions enable process automation and real-time data flow.

BSC Digital Transformation Director Galib Mammadov emphasized the importance of the system’s deployment for the company, stating: “We have brought all core operational processes together on a single platform. Management is now faster, more transparent, and data-driven. In the next phase, we plan to further enhance operational efficiency with AI-supported analytics solutions and build our decision-making processes entirely on digital foundations.”
