Bahrain steel launches $250 million sustainability projects for environmental and economic impact

Bahrain Steel Company, a unit of Foulath Holding Company, has launched projects worth $250 million to achieve environmental and societal sustainability. The projects include building a roof to cover iron ore materials, establishing a solar energy project, and allocating an industrial land plot to support the company's operations.

The launch was attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, and other senior officials of Foulath Holding Company and Bahrain Steel. The initiatives reflect positively on the environment and the national economy, consolidating the kingdom's position as a leader in the iron and steel industry. The Deputy Premier commended the Bahrain Steel Company management for their cooperation in implementing ambitious plans in line with the objectives of the Bahrain Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026), which aims to enhance the industrial sector's contribution to the GDP, increase exports, and create job opportunities.
