Ukraine's largest integrated steel company, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR), has restarted its No. 6 blast furnace, which has been idle for more than one month due to the Russian invasion.
It was expected to produce 1,000 tons of pig iron for the first batch. Subsequently, AMKR was expected to produce 5,000 tons of pig iron per day. The company's coke and mining divisions are also ramping up production.
AMKR also intended to restart No. 8 blast furnace by May and start exporting iron ore concentrates from Concentrator No. 1 by May 10.
