From January to October 2024, the total crude steel production of Arab countries was recorded at 33.6 million tons, representing a 1.7% increase compared to the same period last year. During this period, Egypt remained the leader with 8.9 million tons, achieving a 4.8% production increase. Saudi Arabia ranked second with 7.9 million tons, but its production declined by 4.9%. Algeria, in third place, produced 3.7 million tons, showing a modest growth of 0.8%.

Regionally, Gulf countries accounted for 48% of total Arab production, with 16.3 million tons. Saudi Arabia led the Gulf region with 48% of its production. North Africa contributed 43% of the total production, amounting to 14.5 million tons, 61% of which came from Egypt. The Eastern Mediterranean region represented 9% of the total with 2.8 million tons, where Iraq took the lead, producing 88% of the region's output.
