According to SteelRadar's latest data dated April 22, 2025, several key trends have emerged in the local rebar market.
The Egyptian steel market is experiencing a wave of price adjustments as major producers react to changing demand and cost dynamics. According to SteelRadar's latest price list, rebar prices have fluctuated significantly across a number of companies, with some seeing decreases while others experienced significant increases.
Major producers such as Ezz Steel, Suez Steel and Egyptian Steel all recorded price decreases of $8 per metric ton, bringing their prices down to $746 per metric ton. Similarly, the prices of Al Garhy and Al Ashry Steel dropped by the same amount to $703 and $693 per metric ton, respectively.
However, not all producers followed the downward trend. El Marakby Steel raised its price by $12 per tonne to $723 per tonne. The more significant change was seen at Midi Steel, which increased its price by $42 per tonne to $693 per tonne.
Producers such as Mitad Helwan and Ma'adi Steel increased their prices by $22 per ton, now asking $674 per ton. These shifts signaled different pricing strategies among Egyptian steelmakers, influenced by raw material costs, global market pressures and local construction demand.
