An increase in pipe prices is expected in Russia in May 2023

Pipe prices are expected to rise in Russia in May 2023, as pipe use generally increases in spring and summer.

An increase in pipe prices is expected in Russia in May 2023

Pipe use generally increases during the spring and summer months. Oil and gas pipelines are laid, major infrastructure improvements are made, communications are wired to homes and gas is supplied to residential areas. Therefore, pipe prices usually increase during this time. As observed in 2023, the increase in offers is up to 10-15%.

An increase in pipe prices is expected in Russia in May.

In addition, the introduction of large infrastructure projects - “Power of Siberia 2”, “Pakistan Stream”, gasification of the North-East of Kazakhstan into operation may further spur consumption.

May could be a good month for the sale of rolled pipes because exports to Central Asian nations are actively growing and the weak ruble makes it possible to sell pipes there at a discount (in Russia, their cost is on average 20% less than the world price).

Leading pipe market players will discuss the price situation and give their forecasts at the 13th All-Russian Conference " Steel Pipes: Production and Regional Sales ", which will be held May 18-19 in Volgograd.
