Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced during the opening of the 33rd Algeria Production Fair, held at the Algiers Exhibition Centre, that iron ore extracted from the Gara Djebilet mine has begun to be transported to Oran via a railway line of approximately 2,000 kilometres. The President подчерк emphasised that this shipment marks the first such operation since Algeria gained independence.

The commencement of iron ore transportation from Gara Djebilet, covering nearly 2,000 kilometres from Tindouf to Oran, is being regarded as a turning point in the country’s industrial development. According to officials, the move is expected to accelerate the integration of domestic natural resources into industry while marking the beginning of a new phase aimed at strengthening Algeria’s economic sovereignty.
