The project included Level 1 and Level 2 automation systems, an HD33 medium voltage drive, excitation, drive PLC control and automation controllers.
Medium voltage drive solution
The new medium voltage drives supplied jointly with Inovance provide high mill performance and production reliability. Their modular design reduces investment costs and standardized and adaptable solutions minimize installation and commissioning time and enable a quick start of full production.
This project represents the first cooperation between Primetals Technologies and Inovance, a leading provider of industrial automation. The partnership combines Inovance’s expertise in drive technology with Primetals Technologies’ process know how and delivers medium voltage drives that ensure precise speed control, stable acceleration, deceleration and tension control. This results in tight thickness and flatness tolerances and high surface quality.
Inovance and Primetals Technologies plan to deepen their cooperation in the future and explore a wider scope of collaboration including projects for other types of plants.
