Oman establishes industrial training center with Jindal Steel

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) in Oman has announced the signing of a series of strategic agreements with both public and private sector entities aimed at supporting the development of national talent in the industrial sector.

Oman establishes industrial training center with Jindal Steel

These agreements are part of the broader objectives outlined in Oman’s Industrial Strategy 2040, which seeks to diversify the sector, reinforce a knowledge-based production infrastructure, and increase the active participation of Omani youth in industry.

Among the notable projects is the planned establishment of an industrial training center in the North Al Batinah Governorate, in cooperation with Jindal Steel. Under a memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry, the Governorate, and Jindal Steel, the center aims to provide high-quality technical training that will boost employment prospects for young Omanis.

Engineer Sami bin Salim Al Sahib, Corporate Strategist at Jindal Steel, stated that the initial phase of the center will focus on training job seekers, while the second phase will expand to include professional development programs for current industrial sector employees. He also emphasized that the entire cost of establishing the center will be covered by Jindal Steel.

Engineer Khalid bin Salim Al Qasabi, Director General of Industry, noted that the agreements will contribute to the development of a skilled local workforce, support domestic production, and add greater value to the supply chain. He underlined that these efforts will play a key role in enhancing the global competitiveness of products made in Oman.
