The Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG elected Ulrike Brouzi as its new Chair at its regular meeting held on March 19, 2026. The 60-year-old Brouzi assumed her duties with immediate effect.
Brouzi has been serving as a member of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG since May 23, 2013. A graduate in Business Mathematics, she currently serves on the Management Board of DZ BANK AG in Frankfurt, where she is responsible for finance and compliance.
Gerald Heere, Minister of Finance of Lower Saxony and a member of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG, commented on Brouzi’s appointment, stating: “Ulrike Brouzi is a proven financial expert who has supported the Salzgitter Group for many years through her role on the Supervisory Board. Her familiarity with the company’s processes, structures and strategic direction makes her an excellent choice for this position.”
Meanwhile, following the departure of former Supervisory Board Chairman Heinz-Gerhard Wente, Hans-Jürgen Urban had temporarily assumed the role of Deputy Chairman. Minister Heere thanked Urban for his dedication during the transition period.
Brouzi’s appointment is regarded as an important step in reinforcing experienced leadership within the management and supervisory processes of Salzgitter AG.
