According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), scrap imports in February decreased by 9.1% year-on-year to 1,400,318 tons. In February 2025, imports had stood at 1,540,506 tons. Compared to January, February imports declined by 17.9%.
In the January–February period, total scrap imports amounted to 3,106,706 tons.
By country, the largest share of imports came from the United States. Scrap imports from the US increased by 74.29% to 377,919 tons. Imports from the Netherlands, which ranked second, declined by 32.84% to 238,500 tons. The United Kingdom ranked third, with imports rising by 20.85% to 128,130 tons.
