According to the data shared by the Korean Iron and Steel Association, in August 2023, South Korea's pre-painted steel plate exports increased by 20% year-on-year to 110,000 tons.
Among them, about 32,000 tons of South Korea's pre-painted steel plate were exported to Europe, up 38.4 percent from the same period last year. In addition, exports to Central and South America reached approximately 19,000 tons, up 23.1 percent year on year, while exports to North America reached nearly 22,000 tons, up 9% year on year.
In January-August 2023, South Korea's pre-painted steel plate export volume decreased by 76 percent compared to the same period of 2022 and amounted to approximately 832,000 tons. In terms of import volume, import volume decreased by 37.2 percent year on year to approximately 143,000 tons.
