Over 50 years of service in the iron and steel industry, Kar-demir achieved significant growth in 2023 and became one of the 100 largest companies in Türkiye with a sales turnover of over TL 12 billion and an export volume of 240 million dollars. Increasing its production tonnage by 50% in 2023, Kar-demir implemented a significant growth and commissioned a new rebar and wire rod line with a capacity of 500 thousand tons in 2023 after the steel mill with a capacity of 1 million tons, which was commissioned in 2022.
The new factory has been producing 1006-1008 and special quality wire rod from 5.5mm to 16mm for about 8 months, and in rebar production, various rebar from 8 mm to 32 mm are produced. Furthermore, 8 mm - 10 mm - 12 mm - 14 mm - 16 mm wire rods can be manufactured.
"CARES quality certificate was honored"
In a statement made by Kar-demir, it was stated that all product stocks are currently available and production continues 24 hours a day and the following statements were included: "While all our products are produced in accordance with TSE standards, our company has certified its high quality production with two quality laboratories and has also been awarded the British CARES quality certificate which is valid in 40 countries. IDIS application has also been started. Loading is done 24 hours a day in our new factory. The daily loading rate is 3000 tons.
While limited sales shipments were made to the market due to trial productions since the start of production, our company continues to produce rebar and wire rod in 3 shifts since the beginning of the year and is ready to serve its customers 24 hours a day with its wide range of stocks."
