Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia are continuing their efforts to develop cooperation in the mining and metallurgical sectors. The two countries have held discussions focused on strengthening dialogue between relevant institutions and expanding joint initiatives.
Within this framework, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov met with Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalid Al-Mudaifer. During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of agreements reached during high-level talks held on the sidelines of the 21st session of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) General Conference in November 2025.
At that conference, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Construction, Yersaiyn Nagaspayev, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al-Khorayef, had agreed on developing joint projects in the mining and industrial sectors.
In the latest meeting, both sides expressed a shared view on maintaining cooperation in mining, mineral resources and industry, while also exploring new partnership opportunities.
In this context, a joint step in the field of mining and metallurgy between the two countries is expected in the near term.
