The court concluded that the expiration of the decision taken on March 13, 2020, and evaluated under the RR-2019-001 expiry review, could lead to the recurrence of injury to the Canadian domestic industry. Accordingly, it was ruled that the current decision should be extended.
With this decision, anti-dumping duties on products imported from the countries in question will continue to apply. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), which is responsible for implementing the measures, will continue to collect anti-dumping duties on the relevant products.
The CITT, an independent and quasi-judicial body, reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. The Tribunal deals with complaints regarding dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard measures, federal government procurement, and appeals against customs and excise duty decisions. It also provides opinions on economic, trade, and tariff matters at the request of the federal government.
